From Daily Mail: The FBI is ‘aware’ of the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother, NBC’s Today show said, as the star issued a statement on the distressing disappearance.
The morning show on which Guthrie stars made the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie’s Saturday night disappearance from her home in Tucson, Arizona, their top story on Monday morning.
NBC’s top crime expert Tom Winter said: ‘The FBI is also aware of this case… given the nature of what was found at the scene
‘That’s what has got them so concerned.’
Winter said the authorities are “withholding some details, as we would do with any investigation, to make sure the investigation could go forward without us interfering in it.”
Savannah Guthrie, 54, issued a statement, saying: “I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers, and messages of support. Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom.
“We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone, anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s office at 520-351-4900.”
Guthrie was not on set Monday.
Nancy was last seen at her home in the Catalina Foothills area of Tucson at around 9:45pm MST on Saturday night.
