UPDATE: Pawtucket ice rink shooting victims Identified after trans shooter opens fire on family

1

All the victims have now been identified after a transgender father opened fire on his own family during a high school ice hockey game in Rhode Island Monday afternoon, killing two and wounding three others, before then taking his own life.

Robert Dorgan, 56, has been identified as the gunman. Dorgan was a biological male who identified as female and had started going by the name Roberta Esposito.

Dorgan killed his ex-wife, Rhonda Dorgan, 22, and one of their sons, Aidan Dorgan, 23.

According to the Providence Journal, Aidan Dorgan graduated from North Providence High School in 2021. The report states of Aidan:

In 2025, he received a bachelor’s degree from Merrimack College, where he majored in mechanical engineering and designed a robot that could hand out candy to trick-or-treaters. Last fall, he was hired as an engineer at General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut, where he’d started out as an intern.

The father posted a photo of himself with both Aidan and Rhonda at Aidan’s high school graduation. Now he has killed them both.

Also shot at the rink on Tuesday were two grandparents – Rhonda Dorgan’s parents – who are now reportedly fighting for their lives. A family friend was the third wounded victim, who is also hospitalized.

Amanda Wallace-Hubbard, an older daughter of Robert Dorgan’s, announced in a statement on a GoFundMe page that she has two young siblings remaining, Ava, 20, a nursing student, and Colin, a 17-year-old senior in high school.

As of this report, the GoFundMe account has raised nearly $107,000 to help the two young siblings.

The statement reads:

On behalf of my family, I am reaching out to share the heartbreaking story of my siblings, Ava and Colin Dorgan. Our family has been forever changed by the tragic events at Lynch Arena, where we lost our beloved brother Aidan and their mother Rhonda, who was also my stepmother.

In addition to this unimaginable loss, their grandparents are currently in critical condition, fighting for their lives.

Ava, who is working hard as a nursing student, and Colin, a 17-year-old senior in high school, are now facing the future without their parents and older brother. The weight of this loss is something no one should ever have to bear, especially at such young ages.

Despite the pain, Ava and Colin are determined to continue their education and build a life that honors the memory of our loved ones. However, the road ahead is filled with uncertainty and financial challenges.

With both parents gone, Ava and Colin will need help covering basic living expenses and the costs of continuing their education. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help ease their burden and provide some stability as they navigate this difficult time. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support from friends, family, and especially the hockey community.

Your kindness and generosity have given us strength and hope when we need it most. If you are able, please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser to help Ava and Colin as they rebuild their lives. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with our family.
