The fight between former DOGE leader Elon Musk and President Donald Trump continued Thursday night, with Musk taking another jab at Trump using a liberal media piece posted to his X account.

President Trump and Musk have been trading jabs all day, with the president calling Musk “crazy” and Musk dropping a “big bomb,” linking Trump and Jeffery Epstein, the disgraced financier who was convicted of sex crimes.

In what the media has dubbed a “Big, Beautiful Brawl,” the two former buddies seem to be having an irreconcilable difference of opinion on Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which the administration says “reduces taxes, reduces or increases spending for various federal programs, increases the statutory debt limit, and otherwise addresses agencies and programs throughout the federal government.”

Musk contends that it will increase U.S. debt too much, writing on X, “The Big Ugly Bill will INCREASE the deficit to $2.5 trillion!”

After a few back and forth barbs on Thursday, Musk decided to get personal, alleging that the president is hiding the Epstein files because he is mentioned in them. Then, he retweeted a video made by MSNBC that purports to show Trump at a party with Epstein.

Musk went on to repost a message that was a bit more magnanimous. The post said:

“Elon’s stance is principled. Trump’s stance is practical.

“Tech needs Republicans for the present. Republicans need Tech for the future.

“Drop the tax cuts, cut some pork, get the bill through.”

Musk then reposted a comment about who started it. The post said:

“I hate that this needs to be clarified but:

“No, Elon did not criticize Trump personally first. Trump criticized Elon first. Elon criticized Trump’s bill first.

“Trump commented on Elon around June 5, 12:08pm ET during a press conference. At 12:46 pm ET Elon commented on X in response to Trump’s press conference ‘Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate.’

“The bill and moving forward is what we should focus on, but the truth matters.”

Some are calling for a cease fire. Controversial rapper Kanye West posted, “Broooos please noooooo 🫂 We love you both so much.”

Conservative Scott Jennings appeared to be embarrassed during a segment on CNN, saying, “You know you hate it when your friends are fighting.”

Conservative commentator Terrence K. Williams wrote, “Elon Musk! Please call President Trump, you have his personal number, you have stayed at his properties and he gave you a key to the White House. Trump has so much respect and love for you! Show him some respect and please call him.”

Other users suggested the fight has been staged.

Social media users are lighting X up with memes and commentary about the brawl.

Satire site Babylon Bee wrote: “Judge Determines Trump Will Get The Nation On Weekdays, While Musk Gets Every Other Weekend And Holidays.”

In-N-Out Burger Appeared to be using the feud for its purposed, posting, “Friendships come and go, but In-N-Out will always be here for you.”
