UPDATE: Inside Dan Bongino’s tense meeting with WH officials over Epstein fallout, and Kash Patel speaks out

From Fox News: FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino was outraged this week during a closed-door White House meeting about the Department of Justice’s review of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking case files, according to multiple sources.

Bongino raised his voice during a discussion with White House chief of staff Susie Wiles before storming out of the meeting, according to two sources close to DOJ leadership. Bongino also exchanged heated words with Attorney General Pam Bondi during the meeting, and the whole ordeal has led him to consider resigning from the FBI, another source said.

Another person with knowledge of the meeting disputed the characterization that Bongino yelled at Wiles or Bondi during the sitdown.

However, that person agreed that Bongino was “enraged.” The source said the deputy director was angry about the Epstein memo rollout and what he viewed as Bondi’s “lack of transparency from the start.” The memo, a joint product of the DOJ and FBI, said the two agencies had no further information to share with the public about Epstein’s case, a revelation that sparked fury among the MAGA base. The memo first appeared in Axios over the weekend, and then the DOJ and FBI published it Monday.

A White House official has declared that the claim Bongino yelled at Wiles is “100% false.”

The news broke on Friday that Bongino is extremely upset at Bondi over her handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case, and has not been seen at work since Wednesday.

Later Friday evening, it was reported that FBI Director Kash Patel was threatening to quit the FBI as well, if Bongino left.

However, Patel released a statement on X Saturday afternoon, seeking to squash that report.

“The conspiracy theories just aren’t true, never have been. It’s an honor to serve the President of the United States @realDonaldTrump — and I’ll continue to do so for as long as he calls on me,” Patel wrote.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche wrote in a post on X Saturday morning, “I worked closely with @FBIDirectorKash and @FBIDDBongino on the joint FBI and DOJ memo regarding the Epstein Files. All of us signed off on the contents of the memo and the conclusions stated in the memo. The suggestion by anyone that there was any daylight between the FBI and DOJ leadership on this memo’s composition and release is patently false.”

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk commented, “I just got to see the emails myself. This is true and Pam Bondi wasn’t on the email chain about the details of the memo.”

Journalist Laura Loomer fired back at Kirk, writing:

This is not true.
1. Blondi briefed the White House on the memo
2. You don’t have a security clearance. No way those emails were shown to you.
3. Trump doesn’t use email. The memo was discussed in the Situation Room.

So far, Bongino has not publicly posted anything about the controversy on social media. However, some people are trying to get to the bottom of it.

Conservative host Glenn Beck wrote, “My team has filed a FOIA for all of @danbongino’s texts and emails regarding Epstein to Pam Bondi. My guess is that those exchanges will tell us everything we need to know.”

“It would be a huge loss for the country if we lost Dan Bongino at the FBI,” wrote Kirk.

Journalist Nick Sortor wrote, “At this point, the American people have ZERO CONFIDENCE in Pam Bondi. There’s literally no good reason she hasn’t been sacked yet. Fire Pam Bondi. Elevate Dan Bongino.”
