From Fox News: The 58-year-old man accused of pointing an AK-47 at former President Donald Trump on Sunday afternoon has a prolific arrest record that spans several decades.
Ryan Wesley Routh was arrested shortly after the incident at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Fla. Authorities said Secret Service agents fired at him after seeing the muzzle of his AK-47 pointing through a chain-link fence one hole ahead of where Trump was playing.
Authorities are treating the episode as an apparent assassination attempt on Trump.
A background check on the name given by officials, Ryan Wesley Routh, revealed that he currently lives in Hawaii and has faced dozens of run-ins with police, stretching back to at least the 1990s.
Routh was seen by a Secret Service member while Trump was playing golf on Sunday. He had set up an AK-47, a go-pro camera and two backpacks along a chain-link fence that borders the sixth hole of the course. When the Secret Service agent fired on him, Routh fled in an SUV, but authorities were able to catch him.
According to the report, Routh is originally from North Carolina, and moved to Hawaii in 2017.
His criminal record in North Carolina include arrests for drug possession, driving without a license, expired inspection and operating a vehicle with no insurance. In 2002, Routh was reportedly arrested for barricading himself in his roofing company’s office during a three-hour standoff that followed a traffic stop in which he put his hand on a gun before fleeing.
In Hawaii, Routh reportedly started a small construction company that buildings housing structures for homeless people.
Donald Trump Jr. posted a photo of Routh’s home and a construction vehicle. The vehicle has a Biden-Harris bumper sticker on the back.

Podcaster Jimmy Dore shared the following:
This is Donald Trump assassination attempt suspect Ryan Wesley Routh, he was interviewed by Newsweek Romania in 2022.
He’s a zealot for Ukraine war because he’s been fully propagandized by corporate media to support the war. He has ZERO idea what the war is actually about, his mind is very childlike: “It’s a battle of good vs evil”, just like the corporate news told him.
That’s how propaganda works. That’s why i warned TYT about pushing Russiagate , it would lead to a war, and brainwashed guys like this.
He has no idea what the war is actually about , so when Trump & RFK say they want to END the war, he thinks the moral thing to do is assassinate Trump. This is the direct result of corporate news & “independent” news repeating pro-war CIA talking points uncritically.
Nobody in corporate news will ask “Where was he radicalized?”, because if you watch this video, it’s clear he was radicalized by corporate news right here in the United States.
