The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security released a joint statement on Thursday, claiming that the mysterious objects buzzing in the sky over New Jersey for the past month may not even be drones at all, and that there’s no evidence of a national security or a public safety threat.

“Upon review of available imagery, it appears that many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft that are being operated lawfully,” the FBI and DHS announced.

However, the public isn’t convinced, and sightings are now being reported in other states.

Connecticut: Social media was abuzz Thursday night, as users were posting videos of drones flying overhead.

Lucy Biggers, a journalist for The Free Press, wrote, “I saw 5 drones over the Fairfield Connecticut train station tonight at 6:45!”

Biggers posted an entire thread with additional videos.

“They were flying low like a drone but no humming sound! My husband has a DJI drone so i know what they sound like. They hovered in one location and also made turns!” she wrote.

“They also blink like a drone or plane. This is weird to say but it was like they were disguised as planes. Even filming this video as it got closer to me i go “oh wait thats a plane” and stop filming, but then i realized I don’t live near an airport and this thing was low!” Biggers added.

“Its like they were trying to look like a plane 30,000 feet in the air but they were only maybe 100 feet in the air! The scale was all of and my brain was trying to make sense of what I saw. (Longer video i tried to narrate what I was seeing),” she continued.

“I swear these things werent planes but the photos do look like the bottom of a plane. Their height is hard to tell on an iphone!”

“This is the first video i took right when i got off the train! I was looking at the sky bc i had just posted an article for @TheFP on this topic! I couldnt believe it when i looked up and saw one, then 2, then 3! I think i saw 5 total,” Biggers explained.

“No one else noticed them because unless you’re looking for them they just look like a plane or drone! But I swear these were something different!!” she added.

Another user, Xavier_ATMs, posted a video and wrote, “The New Jersey Drone invasion might be up in Connecticut now. Just saw these massive drones flying around our biggest water reservoir and electrical transmission substations here in Groton CT about 30 minutes ago. Government won’t talk? Maybe we load up the birdshot.”

New York

NYC storm chaser Nicholas Isabella posted a video and wrote, “I’ve spent days making fun of people and their drone stories. But I just filmed this over Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Definitely a drone.”

Former Fox News producer Tami Radabaugh shared another video and wrote, “Drones still hovering over my home in Queens, NY between LaGuardia and JFK Airports.”

California: Drones sightings are also reported in San Diego County and in other parts of Southern California.

Maryland

New Jersey: Videos continue to be posted.

The Warren County Police Chiefs Association released a statement voicing their concerns, as well as their frustration over the lack of transparency from federal and state officials.
