The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security released a joint statement on Thursday, claiming that the mysterious objects buzzing in the sky over New Jersey for the past month may not even be drones at all, and that there’s no evidence of a national security or a public safety threat.
“Upon review of available imagery, it appears that many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft that are being operated lawfully,” the FBI and DHS announced.
However, the public isn’t convinced, and sightings are now being reported in other states.
Connecticut: Social media was abuzz Thursday night, as users were posting videos of drones flying overhead.

Biggers posted an entire thread with additional videos.
“They were flying low like a drone but no humming sound! My husband has a DJI drone so i know what they sound like. They hovered in one location and also made turns!” she wrote.
“They also blink like a drone or plane. This is weird to say but it was like they were disguised as planes. Even filming this video as it got closer to me i go “oh wait thats a plane” and stop filming, but then i realized I don’t live near an airport and this thing was low!” Biggers added.

Another user, Xavier_ATMs, posted a video and wrote, “The New Jersey Drone invasion might be up in Connecticut now. Just saw these massive drones flying around our biggest water reservoir and electrical transmission substations here in Groton CT about 30 minutes ago. Government won’t talk? Maybe we load up the birdshot.”

Ashton we are seeing the drones in Temecula CA now too. One flew over me last night. Looked just like this video recorded in the same area. Last 2 nights locals have seen dozens of them from Temecula to Lake Elsinore. It was quiet and big, car sized at least. pic.twitter.com/jYhrkHBQCV
