According to multiple sources, Joe Biden’s campaign team are furious over reports that he will be withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race, and some are flat denying that it’s going to happen.

Biden is currently staying at his home in Rehoboth, Delaware, after testing positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday have having to cancel a scheduled speech.

CBS News reporter Robert Costa posted the following statement on X/Twitter Thursday night:

“Sources close to President Biden tell me tonight they’re *furious* that while the president is trying to recover from Covid in Rehoboth, a pressure campaign keeps picking up speed. Lots of anger toward some donors for talking of $ drying up if he doesn’t quit, toward what they see as muted support from Pres. Obama, and toward Dem leaders who one source says are “hiding” behind statements.

“If they want him out, they’ll have to push, source adds. Feels disrespected. Still, a fluid moment and no one has figured out an effective way to quiet this drift of nervous Democrats away from Biden and know many Dems want Biden to just break at some point soon.”

Newsmax journalst Mark Halperin announced in a social media post Thursday afternoon that historian and Biden speech writer Jon Meacham is “polishing up remarks” for Biden to announce his withdrawal from the race.

However, Costa says Meacham has emphatically denied that. In a post on X Thursday night, Costa wrote:

NEWS: Historian Jon Meacham to me just now via text: “the report about my doing anything with a speech is totally false.”

Comes as Meacham is being talked about by some Democrats as a Biden confidant who might be working on an “exit the race speech” for President Biden.

Biden campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon declared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe Friday morning, “Absolutely the president is in this race, you’ve heard him say that time and time again… He is the best person to take on Donald Trump.”

“Joe Biden is more committed than ever to beat Donald Trump, and we believe on this campaign we are built for the close election that we are in, and we see the path forward,” she declared.

A new Biden campaign email sent out Friday morning reportedly insisted, “Joe Biden has made it more than clear: He’s in this race and he’s in it to win it. Moreover, he’s the presumptive nominee — there is no plan for an alternative nominee. In a few short weeks, Joe Biden will be the official nominee.”

According to NBC News reporter Sahil Kapur, Democrat Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hosted an Instagram live video Thursday night “calling for Joe Biden to stay in the 2024 race. She warned that if he exits, it wouldn’t be a smooth elevation of Kamala Harris and it’d be a chaotic fight. She said Democrats calling for this want to replace not just him but the entire ticket.”

Maria Shriver lamented, “My heart is breaking for President Biden. If the rumors are true, let’s be compassionate. A good man who has devoted his life to serving his country. Regardless of your party, this is a human moment. This is as tough as it gets.”

Chris Jackson, a Democrat Party official, voiced his anger on Thursday, writing, “I’m so embarrassed and angry at this party and it’s leaders. I’ve never seen anything so shameful in all my years.”

Actress Roseann Barr, a Trump supporter, mocked, “Did y’all just wake up from a 15 year nap or something?”

Trump advisor Stephen Miller also weighed in, writing, “Nothing says democracy like holding a fake primary and then having donors handpick a nominee behind closed doors.”
