In a defiant speech on Friday, US President Joe Biden pledged to continue his re-election bid and defeat Donald Trump, despite ongoing speculation about his potential withdrawal. Speaking at a rally in Madison, Wisconsin, the 81-year-old addressed concerns following his poor performance in last week’s CNN debate, asking the crowd: “Ever since then, there’s been a lot of speculation. What’s Joe going to do?”
His rhetorical response: “Here’s my answer. I am running and going to win again.”
The 17-minute speech in the battleground state, slightly more energetic than his widely criticized debate performance, comes at a crucial time for his campaign. Donors and Democratic allies are currently weighing whether to continue their support for Biden.
Biden also tweeted his commitment to stay in the race for the long haul, posting the following:
Let me say this as clearly as I can:
I’m the sitting President of the United States.
I’m the nominee of the Democratic party.
I’m staying in the race.

Biden just said “I will beat [Trump] again in 2020”… in case you’re wondering how his comeback tour in Wisconsin is going.
