TURNCOAT: Former VP Mike Pence releases statement on SCOTUS ruling against Trump

Former vice president Mike Pence, who served alongside President Trump during his first term in office, issued multiple statements Friday morning, celebrating over the Supreme Court’s 6-3 ruling against Trump’s tariffs.

In addition to commending the Court, Pence also touted the efforts of his own nonprofit organization, Advancing American Freedom, for their role in trying to get Trump’s tariff’s stopped.

In a statement, Pence first wrote:

Today’s 6-3 ruling by the Supreme Court is a Victory for the American People and a Win for the Separation of Powers enshrined in the Constitution of the United States. In Learning Resources, Inc. v. Trump, our Supreme Court has reaffirmed that the Constitution grants Congress – not the President – the power to tax.

American families and American businesses pay American tariffs – not foreign countries. With this decision, American families and businesses can breathe a sigh of relief.

I’m proud of the work our organization @AmericanFreedom has done on this case through our robust amicus brief program to advance economic freedom and defend the Constitution. With this historic decision, America can now return to the pursuit of Free Trade with Free Nations under the Constitution of the United States!🇺🇸

A statement from Advancing American Freedom also praised the ruling:

BIG news from SCOTUS: The Court has struck down broad tariff authority that allowed the executive branch to impose sweeping taxes on American consumers without clear congressional authorization. This is a major win for the Constitution — and for American families.

For years, AAF warned that expansive tariff regimes weren’t just bad economics — they raised serious separation-of-powers concerns. The Constitution gives Congress the power to tax. Tariffs are taxes.

Pence added, “Proud of our team at @AmericanFreedom standing strong for American Workers, American Businesses and the Constitution of the United States!🇺🇸.”

Pence also touted a quote by Justice Neil Gorsuch, who sided against Trump on the tariffs. He wrote:

“For those who think it important for the Nation to impose more tariffs, I understand that today’s decision will be disappointing…But if history is any guide, the tables will turn and the day will come when those disappointed by today’s result will appreciate the legislative process for the bulwark of liberty it is.” – Justice Neil Gorsuch (2/20/26)

Have you officially joined the Democrat party?

You’re a traitor to your own country! Isn’t it odd that we only hear from you when you believe something’s gone in the opposite direction of President Trump? You’re not for what’s best for our country and everyone knows it.

Mike, you’re the biggest hypocrite it’s OK for other countries to put tariffs on us though you’re such a hypocritical Democrat.
