In a post to his Truth Social account on Monday, President Donald J. Trump said he’s received a call from Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who is seeking cooperation amid ongoing federal law enforcement efforts.

Trump wrote, “Governor Tim Walz called me with the request to work together with respect to Minnesota.”

“It was a very good call, and we, actually, seemed to be on a similar wavelength,” Trump revealed. “I told Governor Walz that I would have Tom Homan call him, and that what we are looking for are any and all Criminals that they have in their possession.”

Trump announced on Monday that he was sending border czar Tom Homan to Minnesota and that he would report “directly to me” to help lead Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in Minneapolis and St. Paul.

In his subsequent post about his conversation with Walz, Trump wrote, “The Governor, very respectfully, understood that, and I will be speaking to him in the near future. He was happy that Tom Homan was going to Minnesota, and so am I!”

Trump continued, “We have had such tremendous SUCCESS in Washington, D.C., Memphis, Tennessee, and New Orleans, Louisiana, and virtually every other place that we have ‘touched’ and, even in Minnesota, Crime is way down, but both Governor Walz and I want to make it better!”

The announcement comes after tensions spiraled over the weekend when a man was killed by ICE agents while they were performing their duty. He was found to have a weapon in his possession, and agents say he was hindering their efforts and resisting them. In fact, the criminal illegal alien they were seeking in the initial operation escaped due the the incident created by the killed suspect.

Protestors barricaded streets and damaged property over the weekend, and dozens of Minnesota CEOs wrote a letter to Walz urging him to find a way to cooperate with federal agencies.
