President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that Joe Biden’s restrictions on appliances and lightbulbs are going in the garbage.
The Biden administration had ordered new standards for many household appliances, claiming they should be more energy-efficient and help combat climate change.
Many of Biden’s regulations were set to go into effect in 2027 and 2029, according to the New York Post.
In a post on Truth Social early Tuesday morning, Trump wrote, “I am hereby instructing Secretary Lee Zeldin to immediately go back to my Environmental Orders, which were terminated by Crooked Joe Biden, on Water Standards and Flow pertaining to SINKS, SHOWERS, TOILETS, WASHING MACHINES, DISHWASHERS, etc., and to likewise go back to the common sense standards on LIGHTBULBS, that were put in place by the Trump Administration, but terminated by Crooked Joe. I look forward to signing these Orders. THANK YOU!!!”
The job to terminate the Biden administration’s orders on household appliances and lightbulbs may actually fall more to Energy Department Secretary Chris Wright, as it was the Energy Department who had signed off on the compliance policies.
“The federal government has no business telling you which lightbulbs or dishwashers to buy. Thankfully, @POTUS is bringing back common sense to the White House,” declared Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.).

This comes after President Trump announced last week the restrictions against plastic straws are over, as paper straws don’t work.
