President Donald Trump made a major announcement about his longtime friend and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani Monday afternoon.

This comes after Giuliani was injured in a car accident in New Hampshire Saturday evening.

Trump wrote in a Truth Social post: “As President of the United States of America, I am pleased to announce that Rudy Giuliani, the greatest Mayor in the history of New York City, and an equally great American Patriot, will receive THE PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM, our Country’s highest civilian honor. Details as to time and place to follow. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”

Giuliani’s team pushes back on ‘conspiracy theories’ after car crash
From Fox News: A car crash that seriously injured former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani in New Hampshire on Saturday night was not a targeted attack, a spokesman for the 81-year-old said.

Michael Ragusa, spokesman and head of security for Giuliani, said the former mayor had been flagged down by a woman who was the victim of domestic violence when he stopped to help and called 911. After officers arrived, Giuliani departed in his rental vehicle, which was then struck from behind at a high speed on the highway.

“This was not a targeted attack,” Ragusa said in a reply to an initial statement on X. “We ask everyone to respect Mayor Giuliani’s privacy and recovery, and refrain from spreading unfounded conspiracy theories.”

Ragusa provided the following update to Fox News Monday morning:

“Mayor Giuliani’s condition continues to improve, and he is expected to be discharged from the hospital within the next few days. This is a man who survived 9/11—so a little car accident won’t be slowing him down. He is eager to return to business and continue fighting for this country, as he has proudly done for the past 50 years.”

Giuliani’s son, Andrew Giuliani, wrote in a post on X Sunday afternoon, “Thank you to all the people that have reached out since learning the news about my Father. Your prayers mean the world. As a son, I can tell you I’m honored to have a Dad that I can call the toughest SOB I’ve ever seen! 🇺🇸🙏.”

Since news of the crash spread, Ragusa has repeatedly confirmed on social media that this was not an intentional attack.

He confirmed that it was simply a random incident.

In another post, he confirmed the crash was not intentional.

“Where was his security?” one person asked.

Ragusa replied, “You can’t control reckless drivers hitting you from behind my brother.”

Another asked, “Was he targeted?”

“No,” came the reply.

“He was in a rent a car no one knew it was him,” Ragusa added.

Another person claimed it sounded like a “hit job.”

“It’s not, bro,” Ragusa responded.
