The Georgia Court of Appeals has scheduled oral arguments for December 5, 2024, to consider an appeal by former President Donald Trump and eight co-defendants to disqualify Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from prosecuting an election interference case.
The appeal is based on a previous relationship Willis was involved in.
The timing of the hearing, occurring after the presidential election, has led to speculation that if Trump wins re-election, the case could be postponed until 2029 or potentially dropped.
The proceedings in the lower court are currently on hold pending the outcome of this appeal.
A panel of 3 Georgia judges will hear the appeal involving whether Fulton County DA Fani Willis should be removed from the Trump prosecution, due to a relationship she's no longer in, on 12/5. https://t.co/6ZGnyu7hTF
