In a press release posted to social media Monday evening, President-elect Donald Trump announced the appointment of three people to serve as directors of key White House offices in his new administration.
The announcement includes the following details:
JAMES BRAID will return to the White House as Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of the Office of Legislative Affairs. Braid as served as Vice President-elect JD Vance’s lead policy staffer from day one of his term in the US Senate after having been a Chief of Staff to multiple members of Congress, Policy Director of the House Freedom Caucus, and other senior policy roles on Capitol Hill since 2015. He worked in legislative affairs at the Office of Management and Budget during President Trump’s first administration.
MATT BRASSEAUX will serve as Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of the Office of Political Affairs. Brasseaux was a Deputy Political Director for the Trump Campaign and Republican National Committee in 2024, directly managing President Trump’s victorious operations in the battleground states of Arizona and Nevada. A proven winner, Brasseaux previously served as a Regional Political Director for the Republican National Committee and as Campaign Manager for now-Governor Joe Lombardo in Nevada.
ALEX LATCHAM will return to the White House as Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of the Office of Public Liaison. Alex Latcham has served President Trump for the last eight years, most recently as a Senior Deputy Political Director to the Trump Campaign and Republican National Committee in 2024.
