TPUSA TOUR: Vance to take questions from college students in honor of Kirk

From Politico: Vice President JD Vance plans to step into Charlie Kirk’s shoes and take questions from college students at a campus event later this month.

Vance, who was a close friend of the assassinated conservative activist, said Wednesday he would speak Oct. 29 at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi in Oxford. He will appear alongside Kirk’s wife and the new Turning Point CEO, Erika Kirk.

“I’m going to do exactly what Charlie did,” the vice president said, appearing live on The Charlie Kirk Show from the White House campus. “My plan is to give a little speech, talk about the issues of the day, but turn most of it over to just do Q&A with the audience. I want to hear from these kids, I want to answer questions from them.”

“He would answer tough questions from the left and from the right, and so I want to do that too,” Vance added.

Kirk had an entire tour scheduled and he was planning to speak to students at college campuses around the nation. He was at the very first tour stop, at a college campus in Utah on September 10, and had just begun to answer the second question, when he was assassinated.

Turning Point USA has chosen to continue the speaking tour, and multiple conservatives are stepping in to fill Kirk’s spot at the various locations.

“Part of keeping Charlie’s memory alive is keeping the mission alive,” Vance explained. “Nobody can replace Charlie, but if we all take little pieces, we can do as much as we can to ensure that Charlie’s mission continues to survive long after he’s gone.”
