Incoming Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) assured fair hearings for President-elect Trump’s nominees, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for HHS and Matt Gaetz for DOJ, during a Thursday interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier.
“The American people want change in this country,” he said. “They’re tired of the Biden-Harris-Schumer agenda, and they want President Trump to fix some things. And he wants to get a team in place that can do that, and we’re going to work with him to see that he gets his team installed as quickly as possible so he can implement his agenda.”
Thune stated that all nominees will undergo the proper process and pledged that Senate Republicans won’t let Democrats block President Trump’s picks. He added that recess appointments are possible but require full GOP support, as any Republican opposition could prevent recess and block the appointments.
