Many conservative commentators argued that President Biden tying Vice President Kamala Harris to his administration’s record benefits former President Trump’s campaign — and that he is doing it purposefully to sabotage Harris’ campaign momentum.
During a rare White House press briefing, Biden briefly addressed the averted port workers’ strike, positive jobs numbers, and potential additional funding for Hurricane Helene relief. When asked about Harris’s role amid various crises, he shakily touted her involvement, linking her closely to his administration’s handling of domestic and international issues.
“Well, she’s, I’m in constant contact with her. She’s aware we all, we’re singing from the same song sheet. We, she helped pass all the laws that are being employed,” said Biden. “Now, she was a major player in everything we’ve done, including passage of legislation which we were told we could never pass. And so she’s been, and her, her staff is interlocked with mine in terms of all the things we’re doing.”
As Harris attempts to move beyond the challenges of Biden’s presidency, conservatives on social media see this as an advantage for Trump’s campaign. Fox News contributor Joe Concha mocked the situation, quipping, “Look ma. A campaign ad!” in response to Biden highlighting Harris’s role during his administration.

“I’m Donald Trump and I approved this message,” Trump campaign adviser Chris LaCivita joked, while Fox News contributor Guy Benson posted a similar jab.

Biden’s surprise media appearance coincided with Harris’s speaking at a major event, leading networks to cut away from her remarks to focus on the president instead. Greg Price points out that this was likely deliberate by Biden.
