TERMINATED: FBI chief Kash Patel cuts ties with ‘partisan smear machine’ after Kirk assassination, Charlie’s chilling prophecy resurfaces

From Fox News: FBI Director Kash Patel announced Friday the agency has “terminated” all ties with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a left-leaning nonprofit organization known for its “hate map” and designating groups it views as extremist, including Turning Point USA.

The nonprofit, founded in 1971, originally focused on civil rights legal advocacy. However, in recent years, critics claim it has become highly partisan, targeting conservatives and faith-based organizations alongside actual hate groups.

“The Southern Poverty Law Center long ago abandoned civil rights work and turned into a partisan smear machine,” Patel wrote in an announcement on X. “Their so-called ‘hate map’ has been used to defame mainstream Americans and even inspired violence. That disgraceful record makes them unfit for any FBI partnership.”

“In April, during our Anti-Christian Bias Panel, I made it clear that the FBI will never rely on politicized or agenda-driven intelligence from outside groups — and certainly not from the SPLC,” Patel continued. “Under this FBI, all ties with the SPLC have officially been terminated.”

In February 2023, Charlie Kirk had slammed the Biden administration’s FBI for colluding with the SPLC.

“The FBI was just caught plotting to target Catholics who attend Latin Mass using SPLC rhetoric as justification to treat them as enemies of the state. The KGB didn’t go away. They just got the FBI to adopt their tactics,” he wrote.

Well, not anymore! Kash Patel has put an end to that connection.

In May, Kirk posted what now can be seen as a chilling prophecy. He wrote: [emphasis added]

The SPLC has added Turning Point to their ridiculous “hate group” list, right next to the KKK and neo-Nazis, a cheap smear from a washed-up org that’s been fleecing scared grandmas for decades. They somehow still rake in over $100 million a year peddling their “hate map” nonsense, sitting pretty in their Montgomery “Poverty Palace” while crying about “hate” to line their pockets. Even former staffers called their racket a “con.”

Their game plan? Scare financial institutions into debanking us, pressure schools to cancel us, and demonize us so some unhinged lunatic feels justified targeting us. Remember the Family Research Council? An SPLC-inspired gunman went after them. They’d love nothing more than to see TPUSA in the crosshairs.

But it’s 2025, and nobody with a functioning brain buys their garbage anymore. The SPLC is a laughingstock, a hollowed-out husk of an organization that’s been exposed as a grift time and time again. They’re not just irrelevant—they’re a cautionary tale of how to torch your own credibility. Maybe someone should take a hard look at where all that “nonprofit” money’s really going?

Being on their list is a badge of honor. It means they’re terrified that we’re so effective. Keep crying, SPLC—America’s done with your scam.

TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet said Thursday, “The SPLC’s hate list is really a hit list.”

The organization branded TPUSA as a hate group, right alongside the KKK… and now a radical lunatic has assassinated Charlie Kirk.

Jack Posobiec comment, “As a reminder, when the FBI went after Catholics, it used SPLC articles as their ‘probable cause’ for placing us under federal surveillance.”

The Daily Signal, who first report on Patel’s announcement, also explained about another radical organization that had called Turning Point USA a “hate group,” who Patel has cut ties with as well.

The statement comes days after Patel told Fox News Digital that the FBI had severed ties with the Anti-Defamation League, a Jewish nonprofit that opposes antisemitism but also leans left and condemns critics of transgender ideology.

Just two years ago, on September 1, 2023, Charlie Kirk had written:

Whatever it was in the past, today the ADL is a hate group that dons a religious mask to justify stoking hatred of the left’s enemies.

I believe in the First Amendment and free speech as a principle regardless of what the law says. I don’t want to ban anyone’s speech. But the ADL has no place extorting X/Twitter or any other social media companies, nor should it dictate to federal law enforcement agencies what hate speech is.

The ADL itself is America’s number-one purveyor of hate speech (and the SPLC is #2).

Moms For Liberty had warned the Trump administration earlier about the Southern Poverty Law Center’s “hate map” in a scathing letter.

Reportedly, it was this letter the prompted Patel to look into the matter, and officially cut all ties to SPLC.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino wrote, “We promised accountability. Promises matter.”
