John 15:4-5
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

These verses remind us that we need to be connected to Christ in order to live a Christ-filled life, just as a branch needs to be a part of the tree in order to have life and be fruitful.
In our human nature, we sometimes make the mistake of thinking we can be independent, or that we don’t need help or fellowship. Abide with Christ… that’s the source of true peace and joy!
