2 Peter 1:5-7
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness;
and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control;
and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;
and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.

This verse encourages us to grow in our faith by cultivating specific virtues.
Faith is the foundation, but it should be accompanied by goodness, reflecting moral integrity. Goodness leads to knowledge, which involves understanding God’s will and exhibiting self-control to align actions with that knowledge. Perseverance, or steadfastness, is needed to endure challenges, leading to godliness, a life devoted to God.
Finally, godliness manifests in mutual affection (kindness toward others) and culminates in love, the highest virtue that binds all the others together.
