1 John 1: 6-7
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Darkness is simply the absence of light. If we’re walking with Jesus, we have light in our life, and others can plainly see it. These verses make it clear that we’re only lying to ourselves and everyone else if we claim to have fellowship with Jesus, but are walking in darkness, and embracing the things that God hates.
May we each walk in the light of Christ today, hold to His hand, and stay closer to Him… because He has paid the price for our sin.
