SQUAD RESPONDS: Progressive Dems cheer VP decision by Kamala Harris

Elated Democrat lawmakers are celebrating after Kamala Harris announced she has chosen a progressive, far-left Democrat governor to be her running mate.

“As a governor, a coach, a teacher, and a veteran, he’s delivered for working families like his. It’s great to have him on the team,” Harris declared Tuesday morning, as she announced Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her VP choice.

Meanwhile, Walz, who just last week voiced his support for socialism, has been exposed as one of the most radical picks Harris could have made.

But Democrats are cheering in support of Walz.

Somalian refugee Rep. Ilhan Omar (Minn.) wrote, “Congratulations to our next Vice President @Tim_Walz 🥳. Our North Star state Governor has signed universal school meals, paid family and sick leave, marijuana legalization, and protections for reproductive rights into law. Bringing Minnesota nice to the ticket 💪🏽.”

“Let’s go 💪🏽 #HarrisWalz2024,” Omar wrote in another post.

Democrat socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) cheered, “Vice President Harris made an excellent decision in Gov. Walz as her running mate. Together, they will govern effectively, inclusively, and boldly for the American people. They won’t back down under tight odds, either – from healthcare to school lunch. Let’s do this 💪🏽.”

Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) gleefully declared, “As a former public school teacher, Gov
@Tim_Walz has never forgotten the people. He fights for every worker and family that calls this country home. I sincerely can’t wait to call him Mr. Vice President. That Harris/Walz ticket is the one. Let’s go!”

Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) wrote, “.@Tim_Walz is a great asset to @KamalaHarris’ winning campaign & administration. He is a former public school teacher, football coach, and strong union supporter. As governor, he delivered for working families in MN. As VP, he will deliver for the working families of the US.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) wrote, “Vice President Harris made a terrific pick with Governor @Tim_Walz. As a former teacher, veteran, and one of the most effective governors in America, Walz has a strong track record of putting government on the side of working families. I’m all in for Harris-Walz!”

Sen. Joe Manchin (WV) also released a statement, saying, “I can think of no one better than Gov. Walz to help bring our country closer together.”

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) cheered, “A rock star to veterans, teachers, football players and common-sense Americans, Tim Walz is a great leader for Minnesota and will make an excellent Vice President. Let’s organize with everything we’ve got to elect @Tim_Walz and @KamalaHarris, the pro-freedom ticket, in November.”
