UPDATED REPORT: Trump Jr. trying to convince Elon Musk to purchase far-left news channel, and it’s getting hilarious

There’s an interesting and hilarious development currently happening on X, formerly known as Twitter. Donald Trump Jr. is trying to talk Elon Musk into buying MSNBC.

This comes after the news broke that Comcast is planning to spin off several cable television channels, including MSNBC, CNBC, USA, E!, Oxygen, and SyFy, following a sharp decline in MSNBC’s ratings.

Prominent X user ‘Wall Street Mav’ wrote in a post last week, “Comcast is putting MSNBC up for sale. CNN just announced massive layoffs coming. Maybe the new owners will figure out that lying non-stop to your audience is a lousy business model.”

Friday morning, Trump Jr. wrote, “Hey @elonmusk I have the funniest idea ever!!!”

“How much does it cost?” Musk asked.

Podcast host Mario Nawfal retorted, “I hear it’s about $ 8 billion for the lot of them… but if you fire Maddow, you’d instantly save $30 million a year…”

Trump Jr. responded to Musk, “I mean it can’t be much. Look at the ratings.”

A parody account for Elon Musk jumped into the melee.

“MSNBC is going up for sale. Should I buy it? I would like to fire Rachel Maddow (for fun) and then turn it into a channel that reports the top stories from X each day. Citizen reporting on cable news!” the Musk parody account wrote.

“💯💯💯,” responded Trump Jr.

Podcast Joe Rogan then piped up, writing, “If you buy MSNBC I would like Rachael Maddow’s job. I will wear the same outfit and glasses, and I will tell the same lies.”

“This is getting really interesting. It has to happen,” quipped Trump Jr.

“Maybe I should show up there with a sink 😂,” Musk joked, in reference to a stunt he pulled when he purchased Twitter.

Brick Suit jokingly posted an AI image of Joe Rogan as Rachel Maddow.

“Ok @elonmusk & @joerogan. Since this is getting interesting I’ll throw my hat in the ring as well. I’ll mimic Lawrence O’Donnell… minus the castration of course. That’s a bridge too far,” joked Trump Jr.

“This could be incredibly fun. MSNBC should be streaming The War On Children after you buy it. It may just wake some of their audience up!” suggested conservative filmmaker Robby Starbuck.

UPDATE #1: Enter venture capitalist Shaun Maguire!

Maguire announced Friday night, “We invested $800m into @X. @elonmusk reporting for duty 🫡🤣.”

Trump Jr. replied, “Let’s do this @shaunmmaguire. It started off as a joke but based on the response it sounds like a mandate.”

Billionaire investor David Sacks suggested a new name: MSRNC

Lawyer Klay Thompson wrote, “It would be worth every penny just to watch the complete meltdown of the legacy media that would follow.”

One X user quipped, “Can we have morning joe and the woman read pro trump messages all day? Or wear Maga merch while they spew far left conspiracy theories?”

“Get the sink ready,” joked Noel Roberts.

The idea is quickly catching fire, and the excitement is building… stay tuned!

FLASHBACK: The process of Elon Musk buying Twitter happened in much the same way. Someone told him he should buy it, and he asked, “How much is it?”

UPDATE #2: Saturday, Nov. 23

Another investor is on board.  Zach Witkoff announced, “Witkoff Capital would love to co-invest as well!”

And suggestions are being made about a lineup of show hosts and potential names for the new venture.

Prominent X user Wall Street Apes suggested, There is now officially too much hype for this not to happen.”

“Agreed,” declared Trump Jr.

Megyn Kelly is pushing for the deal as well.

UPDATE #3 – Sunday, Nov. 24

If you thought this wild idea would die out… well, it’s NOT.

At one point, Elon Musk posted a naughty image of Jesus resisting a harlot and captioned it, “Elon Musk trying not to buy… (MSNBC).”

“And lead us not into temptation …” Musk mocked.

Donald Trump Jr. responded, “I think I started something here. The amount of people that want this to happen is incredible!!!!”

That post alone got over 3,000 comments, as again, conservatives are begging for Musk to please buy MSNBC.

Former Rep. Matt Gaetz wrote, “I 100 percent want this to happen.”

“At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if Elon bought MSNBC just to troll them,” wrote journalist Collin Rugg.
