FROM NEW YORK POST: An MSNBC guest sickly speculated that the person who shot Charlie Kirk in the neck could have been one of his supporters firing a gun “in celebration.”
“We don’t know if this was a supporter shooting their gun off in celebration,” the guest told MSNBC anchor Katy Tur after Kirk was shot at a Utah university Wednesday.
“We have no idea,” he told the liberal network. “We don’t know any of the full details of this.”
MSNBC just speculated the Charlie Kirk shooting could have “been a supporter shooting their gun off in celebration.”

He went on to call Kirk “one of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures… who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech or sort of aimed at certain groups,” echoing comments Tur made earlier.
“And I always go back to hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions,” he added, seeming to suggest that Kirk brought evil upon himself.
Critics called both journalists out for the ridiculous speculation and comments.
“That’s disgusting,” Wrote one X user. “Put your politics aside and have some humanity. Charlie is a person, a husband and father.”
“Man, it’s tragic. It’s crazy how MSNBC will just say ‘whoopsie’ and sweep this under the rug like they always do,” another added.
“Shameful. Embarrassing for anybody who’s ever worked in the media,” a third said.
Barstool Sport owner Dave Portnoy wrote on X, “Hey @MSNBC, I’m gonna go ahead and rule out that it was one of Charlie Kirk’s supporters that accidentally shot him with a celebratory gun shot.”
Kirk is believed to have been shot from a building about 200 yards away, Fox News reported.
President Donald J. Trump announced that Kirk had died, writing, “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead.”
President Donald Trump has ordered flags to be flown at half-mast in honor of Kirk.
“In honor of Charlie Kirk, a truly Great American Patriot, I am ordering all American Flags throughout the United States lowered to Half Mast until Sunday evening at 6 P.M,” Trump wrote.
