Multiple radical Democrats across the country celebrated a little-known “holiday” on Monday… Abortion Appreciation Day. Those celebrating including a Democrat governor, New York City, members of U.S. Congress, and even the woke company, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream.
In a press release, the ACLU of New Jersey announced: “Beginning in 1996, March 10 was designated as the National Day of Appreciation for Abortion Providers in honor of Dr. David Gunn, who was murdered by an anti-abortion extremist on the same date in 1993.
“Today, we honor the lives of the courageous, compassionate people who provide abortion care across the country. Their dedication ensures patients can access their fundamental right to make decisions about their own health and bodies.”

Oregon’s Democrat governor, Tina Kotek, who is openly lesbian, signed a proclamation to mark the occasion.
A press release by Kotek’s office reads: Today, abortion providers joined Governor Tina Kotek as she reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to maintaining access to abortion care in Oregon by signing a proclamation calling March 10 Abortion Provider Appreciation Day.
“Here in Oregon, we understand that abortion is health care, and providers are appreciated and can continue to provide care without interference and intimidation,” Governor Kotek said. “To our providers and to the patients who live in Oregon or have been forced to retreat to our state for care, know that I continue to have your back.”
Kotek also ordered a new supply of an abortion drug: Immediately following the November election, Governor Kotek directed the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) to partner with OHSU to replace the state’s three-year supply of Mifepristone – a safe and effective medication approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) over 20 years ago for use in miscarriage management and to end a pregnancy.
“Oregon leads the nation with the strongest protections to access reproductive health care, including abortion. In these uncertain times, I’ll safeguard our values,” Kotek wrote in a post on X Sunday afternoon.

Democrat congress members Ayanna Pressley (Mass.), Mazie Hirono (HI) and Gary Peters (Mich.) quietly released a joint statement, introducing a resolution to recognize abortion providers. A press release on Monday reads:
Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (MA-07), Co-Chair of the Reproductive Freedom Caucus, along with Senator Mazie K. Hirono (D-HI) and Senator Gary Peters (D-MI), led their colleagues in reintroducing a bicameral resolution honoring abortion providers and staff by designating March 10, 2025 as “Abortion Provider Appreciation Day.” The Abortion Provider Appreciation Day resolution affirms that abortion providers are valued as they provide reproductive care despite pressures, restrictions, political interference, and threats to their personal safety. It also highlights the essential role that these providers play in providing safe access to reproductive care, including abortions. The introduction of this resolution follows a 2022 report by the National Abortion Federation, which shows a rise in major incidents like stalking and death threats directed at patients, abortion care providers, and volunteers.
The Abortion Provider Appreciation Day Resolution demonstrates a commitment to abortion providers and staff by:
- Recognizing March 10, 2025 as “Abortion Provider Appreciation Day” to celebrate the courage of abortion providers and the high-quality care they provide to patients and families across the country;
- Lauding communities who proudly support their abortion providers and staff;
- Affirming the commitment of Congress to ensuring the safety of these health professionals, their ability to continue providing the essential reproductive care their patients need, and the right of patients to access abortion care regardless of where they live, free from violence and threats;
- Condemning the decisions of the Supreme Court of the United States to limit abortion care, which had a devastating impact on abortion providers and the communities they care for, threatening their livelihoods; and
- Declaring a vision for a future liberated from all abortion restrictions and bans, and affirming the commitment of Congress to working toward this future with providers, patients, advocates, and their communities.
The Abortion Provider Appreciation Day Resolution is endorsed by Planned Parenthood Federation of America; National Women’s Law Center; National Abortion Federation; Physicians for Reproductive Health; National Network of Abortion Funds; Power to Decide; Guttmacher Institute; National Partnership for Women & Families; National Council of Jewish Women; Abortion Care Network; In Our Own Voice; and National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum.
Rep. Peters appears to be the only one of the three who actually posted it on X.
“Abortion providers deliver essential, lifesaving health care to patients in need all across this country. Sadly, violence against providers is all too common. I’m proud to join with Senator @maziehirono to designate today as Abortion Provider Appreciation Day,” he wrote.
