Here is a collection of stories happening across the country, displaying the state of the economy, the heartbeat of American culture, and the craziness of modern-day politics…
1) Trump blasts FBI Director Wray’s testimony of ‘shrapnel’ hitting him and not a bullet
From Fox News: Former President Donald Trump used his Truth Social platform on Thursday evening to rip into FBI Director Christopher Wray after his congressional hearing regarding the assassination attempt on Trump.
Wray testified that he wasn’t sure if it was a bullet that struck Trump in the ear while he was at an outdoor rally in Butler, Penn., on July 13.
“I think with respect to former President Trump there’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that, you know, hit his ear,” Wray said at Wednesday’s hearing.
“FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress yesterday that he wasn’t sure if I was hit by shrapnel, glass, or a bullet (the FBI never even checked!), but he was sure that Crooked Joe Biden was physically and cognitively “uneventful” – Wrong!” Trump wrote on his on social media site.
“That’s why he knows nothing about the terrorists and other criminals pouring into our Country at record levels. His only focus is destroying J6 Patriots, Raiding Mar-a-Lago, and saving Radical Left Lunatics, like the ones now in D.C. burning American flags and spray painting over our great National Monuments – with zero retribution.
2) Over Three-Fifths Of Americans Believe Kamala Harris Covered Up Biden’s Health Issues, Polls Find
From Daily Caller: More than three-fifths of Americans believe Vice President Kamala Harris was involved in covering up President Joe Biden’s declining health, two polls found.
President Joe Biden announced Sunday that he was dropping out of the presidential race, and Harris secured enough verbal support from Democratic National Convention delegates on Monday to be the presumptive nominee. The polls, conducted after Biden’s withdrawal but before his Wednesday speech to the country, showed a supermajority of Americans think Harris was involved in concealing Biden’s declining cognitive and physical condition.

3) Nikki Haley: ‘Kudos’ to Democrats — ‘Very Smart to Put in a Younger Candidate’
From Breitbart: Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, on Thursday on CNN’s “The Lead,” complimented Democrats on being “very smart to put in a younger candidate” in the 2024 presidential race.
Host Jake Tapper said, “I have to start with the news from Sunday of President Biden dropping out of the presidential race. You have always been skeptical that he could last for another four years in office, were you surprised?”
Haley said, “I wasn’t surprised, and I didn’t take happiness in it. You know, I mean, I think through the whole campaign, I fought for mental competency tests. I wasn’t doing it to be disrespectful, I wasn’t doing it to be mean. I was doing it because I think it’s not just Joe Biden, there isn’t issue that we have in D.C. where people will go into office and they won’t let go and then their staffers and their family keep propping them up and it’s a problem for the American people.”

4) At least 11 anti-Israel protesters have their cases dropped in DC
From Washington Examiner: At least 11 anti-Israel protesters arrested in Washington, D.C., had their misdemeanor charges dropped Thursday evening, one day after protesters scrawled graffiti across federal property and burned an American flag in the nation’s capital.
The charges for the 11 protesters who had their cases dropped included crossing police lines and disorderly conduct at the protest attended by thousands in Washington on Wednesday, according to the Washington attorney general’s office. Additionally, at least seven people charged by the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington were released pending their next court hearing, according to Washington Superior Court records obtained by the Washington Examiner.
So, if I’ve got this right, far-left protesters can riot in Washington D.C., sometimes for days, burn the American flag, torch leaders in effigy, take over buildings, disrupt official proceedings, and force a former president into a bunker, but the only time it’s an… pic.twitter.com/Spjwy3DKhZ

5) Students struggle to shake learning loss, four years later
From The Hill: More than four years after the start of COVID-19 and despite millions of dollars in emergency funding, student learning loss is a major problem.
New research from NWEA, a nonprofit research organization, shows students going into high school are a full year behind academically, a disappointing but unsurprising development for experts who have been tracking progress, or the lack thereof.
…
In almost all grades, NWEA found the gap has widened between pre-COVID and post-COVID test scores, by an average of 36 percent in reading and 18 percent in math.
On average, students will need 4.8 months more of instruction in reading and 4.4 months in math to catch up to their pre-pandemic numbers.

7) Food issues plaguing athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympics
From New York Post: The Olympics’ opening ceremony hasn’t even begun yet, but one serious issue has already emerged surrounding the Games.
According to The Times of London, food at the Olympic Village has not lived up to the standards befitting international champions — let alone anyone.
British Olympic Association chief executive Andy Anson told the outlet there have been insufficient quantities of chicken, eggs and some carbohydrates, while some meat has been served raw.

8) Champagne sales down worldwide in 2024, industry executives cite lack of ‘cheer’
From Fox Business: Champagne sales worldwide appear to have fizzled out in 2024. The traditional toast to life’s celebrations like weddings, promotions and even christening new ships appears to have fallen flat.
The CFO of luxury holdings company LVMH, which owns brands like Louis Vuitton and Moët et Chandon, believes it has to do with consumers feeling happy enough to celebrate.
On a Tuesday call covering earnings, LVMH CFO Jean-Jacques Guiony said, “Champagne is quite linked with celebration, happiness, et cetera,” according to Business Insider.
“Maybe the current global situation, be it geopolitical or macroeconomic, does not lead people to cheer up and to open bottles of Champagne. I don’t really know,” Guiony added.
