Here is a collection of stories happening across the country, displaying the state of the economy, the heartbeat of American culture, and the craziness of modern-day politics…
1) Key takeaways from FBI director hearing after Trump assassination attempt
From Washington Examiner: FBI Director Christopher Wray shed new light on the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump, revealing details during a hearing Wednesday that included the gunman’s research activity ahead of the incident.
Wray said the bureau still could not establish Thomas Matthew Crooks’s motive for the shooting, which left one dead, two critically injured, and Trump with a minor injury.
However, Wray spoke about Crooks’s internet searches and visits to the rally site, offering some details about the assassination attempt publicly for the first time.
The hearing was far more informative than the House Oversight Committee hearing Monday that centered on security failures leading up to the assassination attempt. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, the hearing witness, faced bipartisan pressure to resign after her appearance, during which she provided few answers to lawmakers’ questions. She announced one day later that she would indeed step down from her position.
Today, in @JudiciaryGOP, I asked FBI Director Wray to answer specific questions about his department’s investigation into the attempted assassination of President Trump.

3) Beshear becomes Harris’s top attack dog against Vance
From The Hill: Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) has become the top attack dog for Vice President Harris, the likely Democratic presidential nominee, against GOP vice-presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), ripping his regional rival as a “phony” and not “one of us.”
The barbs between Beshear and Vance, a rising GOP star recently chosen as former President Trump’s running mate, come amid chatter about who could become Harris’s vice presidential choice.
Beshear and Vance are from neighboring states, and their sparring centered on who is a real representative of Appalachia, a geographic area centered on the Appalachian Mountains that is a focus of much political and cultural history and mythmaking.
Asked on MSNBC whether he’s open to being Harris’s running mate, the Kentucky governor suggested he’d “at least listen” to such a call — then went to bat.
God, I love Andy Beshear. He spoke the truth about JD Vance and took up for Eastern Kentuckians this morning.

5) DOT launches investigation into Delta amid ongoing flight disruptions
From Fox Business: The federal government launched an investigation into Delta Air Lines as it struggles to get its operation back on track, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said Tuesday.
The Department of Transportation opened an investigation into Delta Air Lines, which has canceled over 4,000 flights since Friday “to ensure the airline is following the law and taking care of its passengers during continued widespread disruptions,” Buttigieg posted on X.

All airline passengers have the right to be treated fairly, and I will make sure that right is upheld.

6) US Air Force’s XQ-67A drone thinks, flies, acts on its own
From Fox News: Have you ever wondered what the future of warfare might look like? Well, it’s starting to take shape right above our heads.
The U.S. Air Force has just unveiled a new aircraft that’s turning heads and raising eyebrows across the globe.
But don’t expect to see a pilot in the cockpit. This high-tech innovation flies itself.

8) Clinton-Appointed Judge Blocks Biden Education Dept Rule That Forces Schools To Cater To Trans Students
From Daily Caller: A Clinton-appointed judge issued a preliminary injunction Wednesday against the Biden Department of Education’s newly revised Title IX rule, which forces schools to cater to transgender students.
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey and several other states filed the original lawsuit in May against the Biden administration, alleging the rewrite was “unconstitutional.” Bailey stated in the suit that the rewrite would destroy the privacy protections women and girls have in bathrooms, locker rooms, shower facilities and overnight accommodations.
“The States presented evidence that rolling out hundreds of pages of a new rule on August 1, just before the start of the school year, will place an onerous burden on them loads of time and lots of costs that will only escalate if we leave confusion over the States’ obligations under the Rule,” U.S. District Judge Rodney W. Sippel, a Clinton appointee, said in the ruling. “That is particularly problematic given that the new definition of sex discrimination affects each provision of the Rule that the Department asked to go into immediate effect.”

9) MrBeast breaks silence on former transgender co-host Ava Kris Tyson’s grooming allegations
From New York Post: YouTube star MrBeast has broken his silence on the allegations of grooming a minor against his former co-host, Ava Kris Tyson.

In turn, MrBeast — whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson — said that he will no longer be working with Tyson, and revealed that he has hired a third party to conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations.
