In a Truth Social post Tuesday morning, President Donald Trump shared a text message he received from U.S. Ambassador to Israel (and former Arkansas governor) Mike Huckabee.
The two have a significant history. Huckabee was one of the many Republican presidential candidates who Trump was running against in the 2016 GOP primary. He then dropped out and wholeheartedly endorsed Trump. His daughter, now Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, then became Trump’s White House Press Secretary at the beginning of Trump’s first term in office.
Ambassador Mike Huckabee, who is in Israel, announced on Sunday, June 15, that a U.S. Embassy branch in Tel Aviv had sustained minor damage from the “shock waves” when an Iranian missile struck nearby.
However, Huckabee clarified that no Embassy personnel were injured.
The heartfelt text message Huckabee sent to President Trump reads as follows:
Mr. President, God spared you in Butler, PA to be the most consequential President in a century – maybe ever. The decisions on your shoulders I would not want to be made by anyone else.
You have many voices speaking to you Sir, but there is only ONE voice that matters. HIS voice. I am your appointed servant in this land and am available to you but I do not try to get in your presence often because I trust your instincts. No President in my lifetime has been in a position like yours. Not since Truman in 1945.
I don’t reach out to persuade you. Only to encourage you. I believe you will hear from heaven and that voice is far more important than mine or ANYONE else’s. You sent me to Israel to be your eyes, ears and voice and to make sure our flag flies above our embassy.
My job is to be the last one to leave. I will not abandon this post. Our flag will NOT come down! You did not seek this moment. This moment sought YOU! It is my honor to serve you!

Huckabee reacted after Trump posted his text to the public.
“So grateful to serve @POTUS who posted what I sent to him on Truth Social,” he wrote.

Huckabee also posted a reminder on Saturday.
“If you hear “Israel is no concern to USA” remember 700,000 AMERICANS live in Israel. That is equivalent to a full House District. More Americans here than in any other country except Mexico! Iran isn’t just attacking Israel but your fellow Americans who live here,” he wrote.

CNN’s conservative commentator Scott Jennings, who had traveled to Israel and became stuck there when the war broke out, has met with Huckabee.
My friend – @GovMikeHuckabee – you are a legend in so many fields: politics, media, and now diplomacy. The right man at the right time for the USA and our special partner, Israel. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 https://t.co/JeadWZuYEF
