President-elect Donald Trump, who was announced as TIME’s ‘Person of the Year’ on Thursday, is celebrating the moment with an epic photo comparison on social media.
In a post originally shared on his Truth Social account, Trump posted a side-by-side comparison.
The first photo is the mugshot taken of him in August 2023, amid a Democrat-led indictment in which he was accused of trying to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia.
The mugshot actually benefited Trump’s presidential campaign, as it infuriated supporters, who viewed it as pure political persecution.
Within the first 24 hours, Trump had raised a whopping $4.18 million off the mugshot, and the total skyrocketed to over $7 million within 3 days.
The second image is the TIME cover photo of Trump.
“How it started… how it’s going,” reads the caption on the dual image Trump posted on Friday.

Meanwhile, Trump aide Dan Scavino, who will serve as Deputy Chief of Staff ad Assistant to the President, also had some fun, as he posted a video meme celebrating the award.
