Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) had a meltdown on social media Monday night, after newly-inaugurated President Donald Trump issued a pardon for over 1,500 ‘January 6’ defendants.

Over 200 people were reportedly still being held in prisons, after Joe Biden’s Justice Department launched a massive investigation against Trump supporters who were in or around the U.S. Capitol building on January 6, 2021.

Before leaving office Monday morning, Biden had issued a ‘preemptive pardon’ for all lawmakers and staffers from the House Januart 6 Select Committee that investigated the protest at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Biden also pardoned Anthony Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, and retired Gen. Mark Milley, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Pelosi didn’t complain about the pardons Biden issued.

However, the first thing Trump did upon returning to the Oval Office after his inauguration on Monday was to issue pardons for the January 6 defendants and prisoners.

Now Pelosi is furious. She released the following raging statement on X Monday night:

Tonight, the President announced pardons and commutations of sentences for those who violently attacked the Capitol and law enforcement officers on January 6th.

The President’s actions are an outrageous insult to our justice system and the heroes who suffered physical scars and emotional trauma as they protected the Capitol, the Congress and the Constitution.

It is shameful that the President has decided to make one of his top priorities the abandonment and betrayal of police officers who put their lives on the line to stop an attempt to subvert the peaceful transfer of power.

Despite the President’s decision, we must always remember the extraordinary courage and valor of the law enforcement heroes who stood in the breach and ensured that democracy survived on that dark day.
