SEE IT: NY Gov. Kathy Hochul slammed over post about ‘Islamophobia’, amid multiple recent terror attacks

New York Governor Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, is being blasted over a social media post she made on Sunday, in honor of the “International Day to Combat Islamophobia,” which is March 15 each year.

The March 15 date was chosen because it is the anniversary of the mass shootings at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, in which 51 people were killed during Friday prayer in 2019. The international observance date was designated by the United Nations in 2022, and was introduced by Chahat Fateh Ali Khan Niazi, the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN.

Hochul wrote in a post on X Sunday afternoon: “On this International Day to Combat Islamophobia, and at a time when fear and division are rising in many places, New York stands firm: Hate has no home here. Muslim New Yorkers strengthen our communities every day, and we will always stand together against Islamophobia.”

Hochul is being lambasted over her post by many conservatives – especially in light of the fact that there have been multiple Islamic terror attacks committed in the United States in recent days, along with additional disturbing incidents that indicate other attacks may have been narrowly thwarted.

For example:

Sunday, March 1 – A gunman identified as Ndiaga Diagne, 53, opened fire as people were leaving a bar in Austin, Texas at 2:00 a.m. Three people were killed as a result of the deadly attack, and over a dozen others were wounded. Responding police killed the gunman, who was wearing a shirt with the words “Property of Allah” in large letters on the front. Diagne had come to the US from Senegal, West Africa, in March 2000 on a tourist visa. He became a lawful permanent resident in June 2006 when he married a US citizen, then was granted U.S. citizenship in April 2013. He had a criminal record, both in New York and in Texas.

Saturday, March 7 – Two men, identified as Ibraham Kayumi, 19, of Newton, Pennsylvania, and Emir Balat, 18, of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, were arrested in New York City after they threw bombs at a group of conservatives who were protesting against the Islamic takeover of New York outside the residence of NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Witnesses say the two men were shouting “Allahu Akhbar” as they threw the explosive device, and both admitted they were acting in support of ISIS. The two men are believed to be U.S. citizens, but their parents immigrated to the U.S. from Turkey and Afghanistan.

Tuesday, March 10 – Muhi Mohanad Najm, 39, who had changed his name to Kyle Najm Chris, walked into the front entrance of an elementary school in Klein, Texas. He was dressed in tactical gear and armed with a handgun and a taser. After locked doors prevented him from going further into the building, Najm left the property. He was arrested the next day at his home, just minutes away from the school. Najm is originally from Baghdad, Iraq, but became a naturalized U.S. citizen on Aug. 24, 2022 and changed his name to Kyle Najm Chris.

Thursday, March 12 – Mohamed Jalloh, 36, a former National Guard member who was previously convicted in 2017 of supporting ISIS but had gotten out of prison early during the Biden administration, walked into an ROTC classroom at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, yelled “Allahu Akbar”, and opened fire, killing the instructor and wounding two students, before other heroic students took him down. Jalloh was a naturalized U.S. citizen from Sierra Leone.

Also on Thursday, March 12 – Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, 41, drove his vehicle into the Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan, which is one of the largest Jewish temples in the U.S. After exchanging gunfire with security officials, Ghazali died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and his vehicle burst into flames inside the building. Miraculously, no one else was killed. Ghazali was born in Lebanon in 1985 and entered the United States on May 10, 2011 on an IR1 immigrant visa as the spouse of a U.S. citizen. His brothers were reportedly members of the Hezbollah terror group in Lebanon, and were recently “eliminated” in an airstrike last week.

In light of all these events that have happened just in the month of March alone, Gov. Hochul still posted the statement pushing the International Day to Combat Islamophobia.
