SEE IT: Japanese Prime Minister‘s Reaction To Biden Portrait Goes Viral

On Thursday, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi visited the White House. In one notable moment being amplified on social media, she had an interesting reaction to the portrait representing former President Joe Biden.

A tour of the Presidential Walk of Fame has been a customary part of the itineraries of nearly all international political leaders who have visited the Oval Office in recent times. As Takaichi was admiring the portraits, she paused in front of Biden’s. His “portrait” is a framed photograph featuring an automatic signing machine (autopen), signing Joe Biden’s name, rather than a traditional portrait. The photo was installed by the Trump administration in 2025

Takaichi seemed delighted by the picture, laughing and pointing at it before continuing her tour.

Videos of her reaction quickly gained traction on X.

“Takaichi reacted positively, seeming to laugh at the image mocking Joe Biden,” wrote one X user.

Comedian Tim Young wrote, “Japan’s prime minister burst into laughter at the autopen picture for Biden at the White House. The world knew…”

Media personality Nick Sortor wrote, “LMFAO! Japan’s PM LOST IT when Trump showed her the Biden Autopen portrait on the Presidential Walk of Fame. So glad we can all now laugh at the worst President in history without worrying that he’ll accidentally nuke Ireland or something.”

Speaking at a White House dinner, Takaichi said, “A stronger Japan and a stronger America; a more prosperous Japan and a more prosperous America. I am very confident that Donald and I are the best buddies to realize this shared goal.”
