House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who held a grandstanding 8 hour and 44 minute speech on the House floor in an effort to delay the passage of President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” is being slammed over a photo he posted on Instagram Tuesday that some suggests is a call for violence.

Jeffries set the record for the longest House floor speech, ranting about the spending bill from 4:53 am ET Thursday morning until 1:37 pm ET.

But ahead of his speech, he posted a photo of himself holding a Louisville Slugger baseball bat.

Jeffries reportedly first captioned the photo, “House Democrats will keep the pressure on Trump’s One Big Ugly Bill.” However, he now appears to have changed the caption to “Protecting your healthcare is as American as baseball, motherhood and apple pie 🇺🇸.”

“Who thought this photo was a good idea?” one Instagram user wrote.

“Really? No. Take this post down. It’s embarrassing,” another declared.

“Incitement to violence is all they have left,” wrote Jim Hanson, President of WorldStrat, Chief Strategist for Middle East Forum.

White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson asked, “What exactly does he mean by this? Is this a threat?”

“It’s not too late for Jeffries to pull out that baseball bat,” quipped Business Insider reporter Bryan Metzger several hours into Jeffries’ marathon House floor speech.

Below is the grand finale of Jeffries’ grandstanding speech:
