Six Democrats in U.S. Congress – two senators and four representatives – just released a video montage Tuesday which encourages members of the U.S. military to disobey “illegal” orders from their Commander in Chief.
The Democrats participating in the stunt are Sen. Elissa Slotkin (Mich.), Sen. Mark Kelly (AZ), Rep. Chris DeLuzio (Pa.), Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (Pa.), Rep. Maggie Goodlander (NH), and Rep. Jason Crow (Col.).
In the video, the Democrats first introduce themselves and then share their military and intelligence backgrounds.
“We want to speak directly to members of the Military and the Intelligence Community, who take risks each day to keep Americans safe,” the Democrats announce.
“We know you are under enormous stress and pressure right now,” they claim in the video, alleging that the Trump administration is pitting the military against American citizens.
“Like us, you all swore an oath to protect and defend this Constitution. Right now, the threats to our Constitution aren’t just coming from abroad, but from right here at home,” they claim.
“You can refuse illegal orders… you must refuse illegal orders… no one has to carry out orders that violate the law or our Constitution,” the Democrats claimed.
Then, they pile on the pressure, adding, “We know this is hard, and it’s a difficult time to be a public servant. But whether you’re serving in the CIA, the Army, the Navy or the Air Force, your vigilance is critical… the American people need you,” the Democrats declared.
Slotkin posted the video on X, then the others re-tweeted it.

Navy veteran Michael Butler warned, “Encouraging service members to disobey orders which can ruin their lives is extremely irresponsible and completely unbecoming of an elected official. There are well established methods for them to report something if they believe it’s illegal that won’t land them in Leavenworth.”

Another X user mocked, “Thank you for making this video. It’s good to have a record of people in office actively working to subvert the government.”

Former Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale wrote, “Democrats actually recorded this, reviewed it, and thought: “yea this will be a good post.” This is wild. Could you imagine the outcry the left would have if the right or Trump tried this? Insanity.
