SEE IT: Biden mocked after old tweet resurfaces taunting Trump over Maduro

3

Joe Biden hasn’t posted a single word on social media since the Trump administration captured Venezuela’s socialist dictator Nicolas Maduro and hauled him to New York City to face charges.

However, an old post by Biden taunting Trump over Maduro has resurfaced and is prompting widespread mockery against Biden.

On June 21, 2020, Axios had published a report titled, ” President Trump suggested to Axios in an interview that he’s had second thoughts about his decision to recognize Juan Guaidó as the legitimate leader of Venezuela and said he is open to meeting with dictator Nicolás Maduro.”

Biden, who was then in the middle of his presidential campaign, sneered in reply to the Axios post, “Trump talks tough on Venezuela, but admires thugs and dictators like Nicolas Maduro. As President, I will stand with the Venezuelan people and for democracy.”

The Biden administration never made any attempt to capture Maduro.

On January 10, 2025 – just 10 days before Biden left office – his administration announced that it was offering $25 million for information leading to the arrest of Nicolás Maduro.

One day after Biden’s tweet, Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) shared a photo of Biden engaging in a friendly conversation with Maduro and wrote, “Maybe sit this one out, Joe.”

Now Democrats are howling that the Trump administration has captured Maduro, while conservatives are pounding Biden over his old tweet from 5 and a half years ago.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Al.) mocked, “Whoops…and now every Democrat is denouncing an operation to execute a federal warrant while we slept. Democrats have no principles. It’s about whatever way the left wind is blowing to gain power.

“Yesterday’s margaritas with Kilmar Abrego Garcia is today’s Maduro. They’ll support a drug trafficking dictator because this was ANOTHER Trump win. Guaranteed.”

Sen. Tim Sheehy (R-MT) mocked, “This aged about as poorly as Joe Biden.”

Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) wrote, “This aged well.”

Trump’s Rapid Response team mocked Biden’s old tweet by posting a photo of a handcuffed Maduro.

Mike Murphy, who is running for mayor of Lexington, MN, wrote, “FLASHBACK to Biden in 2020: “Trump talks tough on Venezuela, but admires thugs and dictators like Nicolas Maduro.”

“Democrats spent years coddling communists & wrecking America to cling to power. The mask is off. They stand for socialism & fraud, not freedom. These people are sick.”
