The whole world was watching when the bitter and very public fight broke out online Thursday between billionaire Elon Musk and President Donald Trump.

Jokes then flooded social media about who would be best to arrange a peace agreement between the two feuding leaders, who have been best buddies for nearly a year.  But now after a number of insults and barbs were traded back and forth, it appears questionable whether the rift can be healed.

This all comes as President Trump has been trying to arrange peace deals for multiple situations around the world, including the war between Russia and Ukraine, and also between Israel and Gaza.

Friday afternoon, Dmitry Medvedev, a senior Russian security official, mockingly suggested Russia could try to work out a peace deal between the two, for a price.

“We are ready to facilitate the conclusion of a peace deal between D and E for a reasonable fee and to accept Starlink shares as payment. Don’t fight, guys😱!” Medvedev wrote.

Elon Musk responded with a laughing emoji.

One X user pointed out, “At least in America people can have disagreements towards the current leader without any fear of being shoved in prison. That’s something worth defending.”

Another person retorted, “Ha ha ha …but then again you just lost 40 strategic bombers so there’s that.”
