REVEALED: House Oversight Committee selects dates for Clinton depositions

3

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on Tuesday announced deposition dates for former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The Clintons agreed Monday to testify as part of the committee’s investigation into convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. According to Oversight Chair James Comer (R-Ky.), Hillary Clinton is scheduled to appear on Feb. 26, followed by Bill Clinton on Feb. 27.

“Republicans and Democrats on the Oversight Committee have been clear: no one is above the law—and that includes the Clintons,” he added.

The agreement came as the House was preparing to vote on holding the Clintons in contempt of Congress for failing to respond to a congressional subpoena.

“Once it became clear that the House of Representatives would hold them in contempt, the Clintons completely caved and will appear for transcribed, filmed depositions this month,” Comer said Tuesday. “We look forward to questioning the Clintons as part of our investigation into the horrific crimes of Epstein and Maxwell, to deliver transparency and accountability for the American people and for survivors.”

Additionally, the Kentucky Republican said the Clintons agreed to sit for a filmed and transcribed deposition. Their lawyers had previously offered only closed-door testimony limited to Comer and Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.), the committee’s ranking member.

In a post on social platform X, Hillary Clinton spokesperson Nick Merrill wrote, “at the 11th hour, James Comer asked for a camera, that’s fine; He can have 1,000 cameras. The Clintons will do this publicly.”
