From the New York Post: A devout Christian “American Idol” contestant has been charged with murdering his wife while their kids slept nearby — and then staging it to look like an invasion of their Ohio home.
Caleb Flynn, 39, allegedly shot Ashley Flynn, 37, in the head while their two daughters were asleep at their Tipp City home on Monday, WHIO reported.
Flynn, who competed on “American Idol” in 2013, was booked into the Miami County jail on Thursday evening, the outlet reported.
Police first responded to calls of a possible burglary, including a potential intruder inside the house and an open garage door. Investigators later determined that only Ashley, Caleb and their two daughters were inside the home.
Caleb is now charged in the death of his wife, as investigators say he shot her in the head with a 9mm handgun before then attempting to stage the crime scene as a home invasion to try to mislead authorities.
