REPORT: Trump DHS immigration crackdown in Chicago nets huge results

FROM WASHINGTON EXAMINER: More than 800 illegal immigrants have been rounded up and arrested by federal police from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Border Patrol during a September operation targeting Chicago.

The Department of Homeland Security announced on Wednesday afternoon that federal agents and officers deployed to Illinois as part of Operation Midway Blitz since Sept. 8 have arrested more than 800 people illegally living in the United States.

Among the 800 people arrested in 3 1/2 weeks are gang members and criminals convicted of statutory rape, fraud, aggravated criminal sexual assault, domestic violence, and other serious offenses.

“The Trump Administration will not allow violent criminals or repeat offenders to terrorize our neighborhoods or victimize our children and innocent Americans,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “We will not allow sanctuary politicians or violent rioters to stop us from enforcing the law and arresting pedophiles, murderers, gang members, rapists, and domestic abusers from American communities.”

ICE launched Operation Midway Blitz to honor Katie Abraham, an Illinois woman killed in a drunk-driving hit-and-run by Julio Cucul-Bol, an illegal immigrant.
