REPORT:DOJ investigating allegations Black Lives Matter defrauded donors

FROM WASHINGTIN EXAMINERThe Department of Justice is conducting an investigation into Black Lives Matter, probing how the organization handled millions of dollars in donations amid the 2020 protests following the murder of George Floyd, according to multiple reports.

Federal investigators have issued subpoenas and executed a search warrant in their investigation into the anti-racism organization and whether or not it defrauded donors who contributed over $90 million to its cause.

The investigation into the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, Inc. began under the Biden administration, according to the Associated Press. The report also said the DOJ is investigating “other Black-led organizations that helped spark a national reckoning on systemic racism.”

The investigation is n=being led by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California. The district office is led by acting U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli, appointed by President Donald Trump.

The Black Lives Matter foundation told the Associated Press that it “is not a target of any federal criminal investigation.”
