REPORT: Why Wisconsin Supreme Court race is most important in the nation

From Breitbart: The Wisconsin Supreme Court election on April 1 is considered by many the most important race of 2025, with wide-ranging consequences not just for the battleground state, but for the nation.

The race is between Trump-backed Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge and former Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel and Dane County Circuit Judge Susan Crawford, who previously represented left-wing groups like Planned Parenthood as an attorney and is endorsed by groups like the pro-abortion EMILY’s list. Early voting is ongoing through March 30.

The race follows a blowout Wisconsin Supreme Court election in 2023, in which liberal-leaning Janet Protasiewicz beat conservative candidate Dan Kelly and flipped the balance of the court to 4-3 majority liberal. While conservatives have the chance to take back the majority once more with the retirement of liberal Justice Ann Walsh Bradley, Democrats view the battle as a chance to push policy and redraw legislative maps that could ultimately lose Republicans two U.S. House seats and help them close in on the Republican’s slim majority.

“This is going to affect not just Wisconsin — this will affect the nation,” Schimel told Breitbart News in an exclusive phone interview.

The critical Wisconsin Supreme Court battle is between two candidates running for a 10-year term as Justice on the state court:

  • Republican candidate: Brad Schimel, a former Wisconsin Attorney General and current Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge
  • Democrat candidate: Susan Crawford, a Dane County Circuit Judge who previously represented left-wing groups like Planned Parenthood as an attorney, and is reportedly backed by George Soros.

The Democrats have a long-term plan.  If their candidate wins the State Supreme Court seat, they maintain control of the court, and then plan to redraw the legislative districts in order to flip two U.S. House seats from red to blue.

This could potentially flip the entire U.S. House of Representatives back to Democrat majority, and thus, upend President Trump’s ability to implement his agenda… or even give Democrats the power to impeach him again.

Democrats are making no secret of their game plan, and have publicly touted that they want a Democrat majority on the Wisconsin state Supreme Court in order to change the congressional districting to their advantage.

Republican activist Scott Presler, who is working furiously in Wisconsin to help campaign for Republican Brad Schimel, posted a video as House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D) gloated over their plan to change the districting in Wisconsin.

Presler warned, “Let Me Be Perfectly Clear. If Wisconsin doesn’t elect conservative Brad Schimel on April 1st, the liberal Court will redraw congressional maps. Republicans will lose at least 2 House seats going into 2026. If you care, get everyone you know out to vote.”

On Wednesday, Presler voiced concern that conservatives are asleep at the wheel, and are going to let this opportunity slip away.

“Every conservative in America should be talking about the Wisconsin Supreme Court election on April 1st. George Soros is trying to buy the Court, so liberals can gerrymander Wisconsin congressional maps & take the House in 2026. I’m shocked at how many people don’t care,” he wrote.

Elon Musk has jumped on board, and is pushing out the message as well.

“Wisconsin, pay attention and vote before end of day Tuesday!!!” wrote Donald Trump Jr.

Thursday afternoon, Presler blasted out another warning: “I’m going to be honest with you, even if you don’t want to hear it: Republicans have been losing special elections all over the country — even red districts in Iowa & Pennsylvania. Democrats are fired up. Unless we begin focusing on ground game, we will lose 2025 & 2026.”

Former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is also out campaigning hard for Brad Schimel.
