REPORT: White House releases donor list for Trump ballroom amid East Wing demolition

From The Hill: Amazon, Apple, Google and other major companies are among those donating to help cover the cost of President Trump’s massive new ballroom at the White House.

The White House confirmed the list to The Hill amid demolition of the East Wing to make room for the ballroom. The demolition has sparked controversy and pushback from historians and preservation groups.

Trump told reporters Wednesday the project would cost $300 million, up from the initial $200 million estimate the White House shared at the end of July.

Trump pointed out that many prior presidents have made changes to the White House over the years, and a ballroom is something that several people have called for over the last 150 years.

In addition to President Trump himself, the White House has released the following list of individuals and corporations who have donated to the project, although the list does not specify the amount from each donor.
