REPORT: Voters in sanctuary city making decision on mayor amid ICE crackdown resistance

From Fox News: Voters in New England’s most populous city are casting ballots Tuesday in a mayoral election amid a new crackdown by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Massachusetts.

The voting comes as Democratic Mayor Michelle Wu of Boston, who’s seeking re-election to a second four-year term, is pushing back against federal immigration enforcement in the city.

The Department of Homeland Security announced on Sunday that “ICE launched ‘Patriot 2.0’ to target the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens living in the state of Massachusetts, following the success of Operation Patriot in May.”

Wu has repeatedly fought back against the Trump administration’s efforts to deport illegal aliens.

A movement is underway to try to oust her, but the report notes that polls still show she is likely to win re-election. She is facing three challengers in the primary, and it is expected that philanthropist Josh Kraft, the son of billionaire New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, is the likely candidate who will join Wu in advancing to the general election.

One Boston conservative, X user @LouisLMurrayJr1, shared a photo and wrote in a post Tuesday morning, “8am a once busy polling stations in Boston. Dead quiet. Mail-in ballots, 3 weeks of unsupervised early voting. The Progressives have achieved their goal. The process has killed the election. No vibe. Frank Skeffington weeps.”

Over the weekend, ICE Boston announced, “FOX News joined ICE Boston during an arrest of a criminal illegal alien charged with multiple sex crimes. Our field office director explains that Operation Patriot 2.0 is cleaning up the mess left by the city’s sanctuary policies.”
