From The Hill: A New Mexico-based company is recalling one of its supplements after a lab found it to contain the erectile dysfunction drug sildenafil, according to a Wednesday news release from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Sildenafil is the active ingredient in Viagra, which is FDA approved and used by millions of patients – but was not listed on the label of Primal Supplements Group LLC’s product “Volume,” the FDA says.
“This undeclared ingredient may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs, such as nitroglycerin, and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels,” the FDA warns. “People with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart disease often take nitrates.”
On the Primal Supplements website, Volume is advertised as an herbal supplement that “helps enhance arousal and overall wellness,” along with increased circulation, reproductive health and other aspects of men’s health.
The FDA announced in a press release:
Customers who placed an order between July 2, 2025 and September 19, 2025, on the website: primalherbs.comExternal Link Disclaimer, should discontinue use immediately. The product is packaged in 8.5 oz round containers with green labels.
