From Daily Mail: A United States military refueling plane has gone down in western Iraq during the US-Israel conflict with Iran.
Rescue efforts are underway, a spokesperson for the US military said Thursday.
The aircraft was part of the US military operation against Iran, but the crash was not due to hostile or friendly fire, it said.
According to US Central Command, Two aircraft were involved in an incident, one of which was lost.
“The incident occurred in friendly airspace during Operation Epic Fury, and rescue efforts are ongoing,” a spokesperson said. “One of the aircraft went down in western Iraq, and the second landed safely.”
A US official stated that the other plane involved in the situation was also a KC-135 tanker.
“More information will be made available as the situation develops,” Central Command added.
This occurred on the 12th day of Operation Epic Fury, which aims to target Iranian-linked assets in the region.
