From Washington Examiner: President Donald Trump believes the United States will plunge into “economic ruination” if his tariff plan is struck down permanently.

A federal court blocked his “Liberation Day” tariffs this week before an appeals court reinstated them the next day.

Trump previously blamed the Federalist Society, a conservative legal group, for recommending him certain judges after a Trump appointee, along with a Reagan and Obama appointee, blocked the tariffs on the three-judge U.S. Court of International Trade panel.

“I am very proud of many of our picks, but very disappointed in others. They always must do what’s right for the Country! In this case, it is only because of my successful use of Tariffs that many Trillions of Dollars have already begun pouring into the U.S.A. from other Countries, money that, without these Tariffs, we would not be able to get,” he wrote in a Truth Social post this week.

Trump’s comments regarding the US economy and ruination were posted to his Truth Social platform.

“If the Courts somehow rule against us on Tariffs, which is not expected, that would allow other Countries to hold our Nation hostage with their anti-American Tariffs that they would use against us,” he wrote.

“This would mean the Economic ruination of the United States of America!”
