From the Daily Mail: President Donald Trump is currently enjoying the highest approval ratings of his presidency, according to a new exclusive Daily Mail/J.L. Partners poll.
The president is now tracking a 55 percent approval rating, according to the latest poll, with 45 percent disapproving.
‘This is the highest approval figure we have ever shown for Donald Trump,’ James Johnson, JL Partners co-founder told the Daily Mail.
The poll of 867 registered voters was conducted from August 21 – September 1 and has a 3.3 percent margin of error.
The president’s approval rating is up six points from the last approval poll conducted for the Daily Mail by J.L. Partners in July that showed him at 49 percent.
The Daily Mail noted that under President Trump’s leadership, the U.S. economy has expanded 3.3 percent in the second quarter, stronger than expected, and consumer spending and personal incomes have both increased. Additionally, the stock market has grown.
The survey also showed that the majority of Americans approve of President Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to clean up crime in the nation’s capital city.
According to data released by the D.C. police department showing the change in crime since Trump deployed the National Guard to DC, overall violent crime in the city is down 39 percent, when comparing the period of Aug 7-31 of this year to the same time period last year.
The data reveals:
- Homicide: Down 58%
- Sex Abuse: Down 40%
- Robbery: Down 57%
- Overall Violent Crime: Down 39%
Regarding property crimes
- Home burglaries: Down 49%
- Vehicle theft: Down 35%

Amid all this, the Washington, D.C. attorney general filed a lawsuit Thursday, seeking to end Trump’s National Guard deployment in the city.
