REPORT: Trump, Netanyahu to meet at White House as Israel seeks tariff relief, discussions on Iran, Gaza hostages

From Fox News: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet President Donald Trump at the White House on Monday, with Washington’s recently imposed global tariffs set to be part of their talks.

Before the much-anticipated meeting with Netanyahu, Trump took to Truth Social and called for patience on tariffs : “The United States has a chance to do something that should have been done DECADES AGO. Don’t be Weak! Don’t be Stupid! Don’t be a PANICAN (A new party based on Weak and Stupid people!). Be Strong, Courageous, and Patient, and GREATNESS will be the result!”

Israel’s Ambassador to the U.S. Yechiel Leiter told Fox News Digital, “This meeting comes at a critical moment on many key issues: the efforts to return our hostages being held by Hamas, the instability in Syria and the threats posed by Iranian proxies.”

“The recent implementation of tariff policy will also be discussed. Just as Prime Minister Netanyahu was the first world leader to visit President Trump in his second term in the White House, he is now once again the first leader to meet with the president with regard to deepening economic ties and putting trade relations in order,” he added.

Netanyahu last met with Trump in Washington on Feb. 4.

Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with President Trump at the White House today at 1 pm EST.  They are also scheduled to participate in a joint press conference at 2:30 pm EST.

In another post Monday morning, Trump added:

“Oil prices are down, interest rates are down (the slow moving Fed should cut rates!), food prices are down, there is NO INFLATION, and the long time abused USA is bringing in Billions of Dollars a week from the abusing countries on Tariffs that are already in place.

“This is despite the fact that the biggest abuser of them all, China, whose markets are crashing, just raised its Tariffs by 34%, on top of its long term ridiculously high Tariffs (Plus!), not acknowledging my warning for abusing countries not to retaliate. They’ve made enough, for decades, taking advantage of the Good OL’ USA! Our past “leaders” are to blame for allowing this, and so much else, to happen to our Country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump also wrote: “Countries from all over the World are talking to us. Tough but fair parameters are being set. Spoke to the Japanese Prime Minister this morning. He is sending a top team to negotiate! They have treated the U.S. very poorly on Trade. They don’t take our cars, but we take MILLIONS of theirs. Likewise Agriculture, and many other “things.” It all has to change, but especially with CHINA!!!”

Netanyahu arrived in Washington, D.C. Sunday afternoon:

Netanyahu’s team announced: “Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met this evening, at Blair House in Washington, with US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer. The meeting was warm, friendly and productive.”
