REPORT: Rising Republican’s future now in tatters as he’s blamed for electoral bloodbath

FROM DAILY MAIL: The dramatic Republican drubbing in Virginia on Tuesday night is now imperiling the once bright future prospects of Governor Glenn Youngkin.

Four years ago, in 2021, Youngkin was a national Republican hero after he led the GOP to control all three elected statewide offices, as well as gains in the Virginia House of Delegates.

Yesterday, Democrats flipped control of all of the state’s executive offices, and also flipped 13 seats in the House of Delegates, giving them control of 64 percent of the chamber come January.

Youngkin is taking heat as some Republicans feel he should not have meddled in the GOP primary when he recommended his lieutenant governor, Winsome Earle-Sears.

According to a conservative Virginia operative, Youngkin’s decision to “personally select the nominees and clear out the primary” sealed his fate.

Matthew Hurtt, Chairman of the Arlington GOP, claimed Youngkin is responsible for the massive losses experienced by the GOP in 2025, telling the Daily Mail that he had an “unnecessary battle” with the lawmakers over a taxpayer-funded stadium in Northern Virginia.

Other Virginia conservatives feel that Youngkin has left a positive legacy.
