From The Hill: Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) said that his office asked Elon Musk, the owner of X, and the leadership of other social platforms to take down a video purporting to show a Haitian immigrant with multiple Georgia IDs who claimed to have voted multiple times.
The secretary’s office said that the video is false and it is working to identify where the video originated. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is also investigating the matter, according to a press release.
“This is false, and is an example of targeted disinformation we’ve seen this election. It is likely foreign interference attempting to sow discord and chaos on the eve of the election,” Raffensperger said in a statement on Thursday night.
“In the meantime, we ask Elon Musk and the leadership of other social media platforms to take this down. This is obviously fake and part of a disinformation effort. Likely it is a production of Russian troll farms,” Raffensperger added in the statement.

In the video posted on X, a Black man riding in a vehicle says, “We are from Haiti. We came to America 6 months ago and we already have our American citizenship. We’re voting Kamala Harris. Yesterday we voted in Gwinnett County, and today we’re voting in Fulton County.”
Multiple drivers’ licenses are then displayed, as the man says, “We have all our documents, drivers’ licenses… we invite all Haitians to come to America and bring families.”
Raffensperger offers no proof that the video is false, or that it is from “Russian troll farms.”
Whether Elon Musk will remove the video from X remains to be seen. As of Friday night, it had already received over 750,000 views.
Sharing a screenshot of the post in question, Raffensperger wrote, “We have discussed this with State and Federal authorities. This is obviously fake, and likely it is a production of Russian troll farms. As Americans we can’t let our enemies use lies to divide us and undermine faith in our institutions – or each other.”
